New Delhi: Facebook reported on Wednesday that it had removed more than 25 million pieces of content that violated 13 Facebook policies and more than 2 million pieces of content that violated 12 Instagram policies in the month of July, according to the most recent compliance report submitted in accordance with the IT Rules 2021.

Meta responded to every single one of the 626 allegations it received through Facebook's Indian grievance mechanism between July 1 and July 31. "Of these inbound reports, we gave solutions for consumers to fix their issues in 603 circumstances," the company claims.

According to Facebook's monthly transparency report, 1.73 crore pieces of spam content were removed. It was followed by 27 lakh postings about "adult nudity and sexual activity" and 23 lakh posts about "violent and graphic content."

For the remaining 23 reports that required specialised study, Meta asserted that it evaluated the information in accordance with corporate policy, and that nine reports overall merited action. Meta received 1,033 reports about Instagram through the Indian grievance process, and the company responded to each one. The social network provided users with resources to assist them in 945 of these incoming reports.

The list of these, according to Meta, "includes pre-established routes to report content for specific violations, self-remediation flows where customers can download their data, avenues to handle account hacked concerns, etc."

"We track how many pieces of content (such as posts, photos, videos, or comments) are removed from Facebook or Instagram after they violated our standards, or when we cover up images or videos that might be upsetting to some viewers with a warning "added meta

Under the new IT Rules 2021, major social media and digital platforms with more than 5 million users are expected to submit monthly compliance reports.
