I'm pleased to report that "Nikshay Mitras" have demonstrated a desire to assist 9.24 lakh TB sufferers. 9.25 lakh TB patients had agreed to receive assistance through the "Nikshay 2.0" site as part of the Pradhan Mantri TB Free India Campaign, Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya tweeted on Thursday.

2,818 "Ni-kshay Mitras," or people, organisations, businesses, and NGOs who will adopt these patients, have already been approved by their various TB officers to sponsor 2.77 lakh patients, of the donors who have made their promises. The volunteer donors are put in touch with TB officials in the region where they want to assist the patient after making a pledge.

The responsible TB officer then looks through the list of patients who have given their approval and gives the donor their information under the condition that they do not divulge it.

1,730, or 61.4%, of the Ni-kshay mitras that have previously been authenticated are people. There are also 325 NGOs, 162 organisations, 86 businesses, 84 political parties, 56 elected officials, 18 cooperatives, and 357 other organisations. According to the data, 82.6% of them have promised to help patients for a year, 14.9% for six months, 1.5% for three years, and 1% for two years.
