The HBO Max adaptation of The Penguin is a fascinating and intriguing DC initiative. With Warner Bros.' confirmation of Matt Reeves' The Batman 2, viewers may find interest in The Penguin having its own television series. It's a hint that potential follow-up projects to The Batman may create their own Matt Reeves universe independent of the DCEU. The Bat-Verse may include further movies and TV shows, although they may develop independently of other DC projects.

Due to the fact that The Batman concluded with The Penguin just assuming the position of power that we are familiar with from the original Penguin character, The Penguin is poised to play a captivating role in this reality. With the position that Gotham is in, Mr. Oswald Cobblepot (Colin Farrell) is certain to make some significant moves. Keep in mind that when we left the city in The Batman, it was virtually submerged. As local officials work to restore the most fundamental human services, chaos will undoubtedly rule. As crime floods in like water, Cobblepot will have a wonderful opportunity to increase his hold over the city.

Rise of Penguin to Power in Gotham

The Batman 2 and The Penguin Despite having full approval, neither movie has a release date or any other information other than the knowledge that it will happen. So it's difficult to predict when The Penguin will happen. So, using everything we've learnt from The Batman, we'll have to make some educated guesses. At the film's conclusion, Oz Cobblepot has just emerged as the improbable hero who helps Batman (Robert Pattinson) crack the case of his parents' slaying.

Cobblepot was set to succeed Carmine Falcone (John Turturro), the former boss of the Gotham mafia, but he was apprehended when it was discovered that he was a killer and a police informant. Of course, all of this is taking place as the national guard is en route, the city floods, and people are left homeless.

There is no better time for the mafia to seize control of the streets if Penguin is going to take over the organisation. Gangs and narcotics typically flourish in situations of such extreme emergency. There are important areas of the city where the police never go and where the mob is in total control. Naturally, this would also be the ideal environment for Batman to flourish.

But in these circumstances, Cobblepot, with his Iceberg Lounge and enigmatic narcotics known as "drops," could become his own autocrat. Cobblepot's ascent to power and the terror he is able to inflict upon Gotham while the city is vulnerable may be the subject of The Penguin.

The Penguin Might Open the Door for New Batman Movies

It seamlessly combines with other programmes that were supposed to be in development. The Batman's sole publicly stated spin-off series at the time is The Penguin. A Gotham PD spin-off and an Arkham spin-off series, however, had been discussed earlier during The Batman's time in the spotlight. As Detective Gordon (Jeffrey Wright) hunts down crooks and the treachery they leave in their path, it wouldn't be beyond of the question to locate The Penguin star or at the very least centre on the notorious felon.

It wouldn't be too far-fetched to assume that the Penguin could find a reason to instigate an Arkham jail break, liberating not just Paul Dano's Riddler but also Barry Keoghan's Joker. It's a great approach to maybe introduce the following movie.

Like one does outside of a movie, the series will probably tell The Batman's minor stories. However, The Penguin will broaden Matt Reeves' Bat-Verse in the process. And Warner Bros. Pictures Group Co-Chair and CEO Michael De Luca has previously stated to Deadline that he is prepared to allow Matt Reeves' creative voice plenty of room to manoeuvre, saying:

"For someone like Matt, we'll purchase whatever he desires. For anything Matt is drawn to, whether it's in the Batman universe or not, we're investing. He is welcome to go wherever his interests lead him. Whatever Matt wants to do, we'll support. With everything Matt has produced, including Let Me In, the Apes trilogy, and The Batman, he stands out among the writer/directors now working in this highly regarded genre sector.

Therefore, whatever we see in The Penguin may have the potential to become a standalone programme. In a manner, Gotham is a character unto itself, and the stories that are presented there reflect the overall tone of the Batman story. Batman is a hero born out of need to heal the wounds of a nightmarish city. A thousand criminals are concealed in that darkness, and they pose a constant threat to the defenceless.
